AJILTerms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and AJIL. By creating an account or placing an order, you accept them. If you do not, please do not use the service.
1. What AJIL is
AJIL is a marketplace. We connect you with independent shops, restaurants and couriers. We do not cook the food, we do not stock the shelves, and we do not employ the couriers. The merchant is responsible for the goods it sells and for their quality, description, weight and safety. The courier is responsible for carrying the order. AJIL is responsible for the platform: the ordering, the payment and the tracking.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live.
- Give us a phone number you control, and keep your password to yourself. Orders placed from your account are treated as yours.
- One account per person. Do not create accounts to abuse promotions.
- Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else is using your account.
3. Orders
Placing an order is an offer to buy from the merchant. It becomes a contract when the merchant accepts it. A merchant may decline — because an item ran out, because the kitchen is overloaded, or because they are about to close. If that happens you are not charged, or you are refunded.
Prices, availability, opening hours and minimum order amounts are set by the merchant and can change. What you see at checkout is what applies to that order.
Scheduled orders and pickup
You may schedule an order for a later time slot, including from a shop that is currently closed. You may also choose pickup, in which case there is no courier and no delivery fee; you collect the order yourself at the address shown.
4. Prices, fees and tax
- Item prices are set by the merchant.
- Delivery and service fees are shown in the cart before you pay and itemised on the receipt.
- Sales tax is applied per item, at the rate that item's category requires — prepared meals and grocery staples are not taxed alike.
- Tips are optional, chosen by you, and go to the courier.
- Promotional codes have their own conditions and expiry, and may be withdrawn at any time for future orders.
5. Payment
Card payments are processed by Stripe. AJIL never receives or stores your card number. By paying you authorise the charge for the total shown, including fees, tax and any tip. If a payment is declined or reversed, the order may be cancelled.
6. Cancellations and refunds
You may cancel an order from the app while it has not yet been accepted or prepared, and you are refunded in full. Once the merchant has started preparing, cancellation may no longer be possible — the goods have already been made.
If an order arrives wrong, incomplete, or does not arrive, contact [email protected] within 48 hours with your order number. We look at each case and refund what is owed, in whole or in part, to the original payment method. Refunds normally reach your bank within 5 to 10 business days.
7. Delivery
Estimated times are estimates, not guarantees; traffic, weather and kitchen load move them. Give an address a courier can actually reach, and be reachable at the number on your account. If nobody answers and the courier cannot leave the order safely, it may be returned and the order may not be refunded.
8. Using the service properly
Do not use AJIL to break the law, to harass merchants or couriers, to place fraudulent or fake orders, to scrape or overload the service, or to try to reach data that is not yours. We may suspend or close an account that does.
9. Merchants and couriers
If you join AJIL as a merchant or a courier, a separate agreement governs commissions, payouts and obligations. You remain an independent business, responsible for your own licences, insurance, and taxes.
10. Liability
The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, AJIL is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing here removes rights you have under consumer law that cannot be waived — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
11. Changes and termination
We may update these terms; the date at the top will change, and continuing to use AJIL means accepting the new version. You may close your account at any time from Profile → Delete my account. We may suspend an account that breaches these terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, United States, without regard to conflict of law rules. Disputes go to the courts of that state, unless the law where you live gives you the right to sue elsewhere.
